National Veterinary Associates

BLOOMINGTON, IL

Full job description

Brand-New Hospital | Small Animal + Optional Exotics | Strong Mentorship | Four-Day Work Week | 70+ Years in the Community

Looking for a hospital where you can practice great medicine, work with a genuinely collaborative team, and have the resources to keep growing?

Kruger Animal Hospital has been part of the Bloomington-Normal community for more than 70 years, and we're excited to welcome a fifth associate veterinarian to our team in our brand-new hospital.

We provide comprehensive care for small animal patients, with opportunities to see avian, reptile, and small mammal exotics for doctors who are interested. You don't need to have an interest in exotics to be a great fit - our primary focus is small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry.

Our team is collaborative, supportive, and committed to helping every doctor continue developing their clinical skills and interests. With the financial, staffing, and professional resources of NVA behind us, you'll have the support to build the kind of veterinary career you want.

Why You'll Love Working at Kruger

  • Brand-new hospital designed to support efficient, high-quality patient care
  • Small animal practice with the opportunity to see avian, reptile, and small mammal exotics if interested
  • Collaborative team that enjoys working together and supporting one another
  • Strong mentorship and hands-on support across medicine and surgery
  • Opportunity to develop and pursue your own clinical interests
  • Quick and reliable referral relationships with specialists throughout the area
  • Established client base built over more than 70 years in Bloomington-Normal
  • Full-service medical, surgical, dental, grooming, and boarding services

Practice Great Medicine

Our new hospital is equipped with the technology and resources needed to provide comprehensive care, including:

  • Modern surgical suite with isoflurane anesthesia, electrocautery, and advanced surgical monitoring
  • Oscilloscope, blood pressure monitoring, and pulse oximetry
  • Laser therapy
  • Ultrasonic dental equipment and digital dental radiography
  • On-site ECG performance and interpretation
  • Robust pharmacy with compounding capabilities
  • Full IDEXX in-house laboratory for blood chemistry, urinalysis and sediments, PCV/TP, FeLV/FIV testing, and various ELISA tests
  • Access to an external full-service IDEXX clinical and pathology laboratory
  • Paper-light AVImark medical records system
  • Quick access to referral specialists throughout the area

Mentorship & Professional Growth

At Kruger, mentorship is more than having someone available when you have a question. You'll work alongside a collaborative veterinary team with support available for both routine and challenging cases.

Through NVA's General Practice Mentorship Program, you'll also have access to:

  • One-on-one medical and surgical support
  • Personalized guidance and hands-on skill development
  • Quarterly case reviews and networking opportunities
  • A cohort of veterinarians throughout Illinois for connection, engagement, and planned social events
  • Wellness programming focused on stress management and maintaining a balanced approach to your career and life

You'll also have access to NVA's PetOne Veterinary Training Center for hands-on training in surgery, dentistry, anesthesiology, ultrasound, and other clinical skills.

Build Your Own Clinical Interests

We believe veterinarians do their best work when they have the opportunity to pursue the areas of medicine they enjoy.

Whether your interests include surgery, dentistry, orthopedics, exotics, diagnostics, or another area of veterinary medicine, we're committed to supporting you as you continue developing your skills.
