Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with an established manufacturer in the Binghamton, NY area to identify an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead and strengthen its manufacturing organization.

This is a highly visible leadership role for an operations executive who knows how to improve performance without disrupting the systems and practices that have helped build a successful business.

The VP of Operations will oversee key functions including manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, scheduling, logistics, and HR, with a focus on increasing productivity, strengthening accountability, developing leaders, and delivering consistent operational results.

What You’ll Lead

• Drive improvements in productivity, labor efficiency, equipment uptime, quality, and on-time delivery
• Lead and develop managers across multiple operational functions
• Strengthen accountability and build a high-performance operating culture
• Oversee production planning, scheduling, engineering, maintenance, and logistics
• Identify and implement practical continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure operational priorities remain aligned with customer commitments and overall business goals
• Provide leadership for major engineering, maintenance, and operational projects

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership
• Experience overseeing multiple departments or operational functions
• Strong background in high-mix, low-volume, configure-to-order, or make-to-order manufacturing
• Hands-on ERP knowledge including production planning, scheduling, BOMs, and routings
• Demonstrated success improving productivity, equipment uptime, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, establish accountability, and drive change
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience preferred
