Full job description
We are seeking a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer in Northern California with strong experience in wastewater treatment and water infrastructure projects. This position will work on a range of municipal water and wastewater projects, including treatment facilities, collection systems, pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, and water reuse projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Work on wastewater treatment plants, treatment plant expansions, water reuse projects, collection systems, pipelines, pump stations, and reservoirs
- Prepare engineering designs, technical reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permitting documents
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for wastewater treatment facilities
- Perform hydraulic and treatment process evaluations and alternative analyses
- Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and other project deliverables
- Support projects through construction, including responding to technical questions and providing engineering support
- Manage project budgets, schedules, contractual requirements, and quality standards
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to less experienced staff
- Work directly with clients and support the development and maintenance of client relationships
- Participate in professional organizations and industry events
- Travel to project sites and client locations as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting or engineering, with a focus on wastewater
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong experience designing wastewater treatment plants and related infrastructure
- Experience with hydraulics and wastewater treatment processes, including physical, chemical, and biological treatment
- Experience with wastewater collection systems and water or reclaimed water transmission and distribution
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, including budgets, schedules, contracts, and quality
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Ability to work directly with clients and project teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Willingness to travel as needed for projects
