Full job description
Our client seeks an Accountant with real estate experience. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare timely, complete, and accurate monthly financial reports and property budget variance analysis, including updating financial narratives for all end of month reporting to clients.
- Prepare quarterly and year-end accrual-based workpapers and record associated journal entries for reporting to client for all associated properties.
- Assist with annual audit and prepare any required reconciliations or respond to documentation requests from the auditors.
- Responsible for assigned portfolio cash management, cash planning and weekly check run process, while ensuring proper invoice coding and trouble-shooting of coding errors.
- Responsible for coordinating with Accounts Receivable Specialist and CFO on the collection of delinquent tenant receivables and trouble-shooting un-reconciled tenant payments across the entire managed portfolio.
- Prepare any lender required loan and escrow/reserve draw requests as needed for assigned portfolio.
- Assist with preparation of annual property budgets and monthly / quarterly specialized or ad hoc reporting to clients and lenders.
- Prepare CAM/INS/RET recovery models for review by Controller and complete billings to tenants.
- Prepare RET recovery billings for assigned portfolio. Track and code RET invoices. Forward tax bills to lenders or tenants, as needed.
- Prepare interim and year-end audit and tax return work papers for submission to client CPA firms.
- Coordinate with Cash Manager to set up new bank accounts and close old accounts.
- Monitor and track property tax assessments and communicate with taxing authorities on an as-needed basis to resolve assessment matters for assigned portfolio.
- Assist with new job cost projects including set up in Sage Timberline, draw requests and reporting to Lenders, as needed.
- Eclipse document scanning and filing, as needed.
- Other responsibilities & duties as may be assigned.
