My client in San Jose is seeking a Landscape Architectural Designer to join their well-established firm. The company has a diverse portfolio in landscape architectural design, with a strong focus on educational projects. The work scope includes conducting needs assessments, developing master plans, and overseeing construction administration.
** Only local candidates with public school / park experience or commercial project experience will be considered. **
This full-time role offers the opportunity to contribute to a range of landscape architecture projects from concept through construction. The successful candidate will support project delivery through design, technical documentation, and field observation.
Main Responsibilities:
· Contribute to landscape site design and graphic renderings
· Prepare landscape construction documents and specifications
· Assist with construction cost estimating
· Conduct site walks and construction observation
· Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal team members
· Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and WELO requirements
Requirements:
· Public sector project experience a must
· Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in landscape design and construction documentation
· Proficiency in AutoCAD 2021 for site plans, construction drawings, and details
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, &
InDesign
· Strong knowledge of California plant materials, especially those suited to Bay Area climates
· Proficiency in irrigation design and familiarity with WELO requirements - Required
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to conduct construction site walks
· Reliable transportation for site visits and a valid California driver's license
