Full job description
Asset Manager | Commercial Real Estate | South Peninsula
Open to title depending on experience
Propel Recruitment is partnering with a highly respected Bay Area real estate investment and development firm on a unique Asset Management opportunity.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced real estate professional who wants to be close to the assets, close to the decision-making, and highly visible within the organization.
The firm owns and operates a diverse portfolio of office, retail, mixed-use, and other commercial real estate assets throughout the Bay Area and works alongside sophisticated institutional capital partners.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a true, hands-on owner-side Asset Management role where you will take responsibility for the performance and strategy of your assigned assets.
You will:
• Develop and execute property-level business plans designed to maximize NOI, cash flow, investment returns, and long-term value
• Oversee a portfolio primarily consisting of office, retail, and mixed-use assets
• Serve as the ownership representative for assigned properties
• Work directly with property managers, leasing brokers, tenants, consultants, vendors, and construction teams
• Drive leasing strategy, tenant improvements, capital projects, budgets, and operating initiatives
• Evaluate asset performance, valuations, IRR/ROI, capital requirements, and opportunities for value creation
• Partner with acquisitions and development teams on underwriting, due diligence, and new investment opportunities
• Work closely with sophisticated institutional investment partners
• Gain significant exposure to senior leadership and key decision-makers
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Approximately 5–10 years of commercial/mixed-use real estate experience
• Approximately 5–7 years of hands-on Asset Management experience
• Strong exposure to office, retail, mixed-use and/or multifamily assets
• Experience driving property-level strategy—not solely financial reporting or portfolio analytics
• Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including asset-level budgeting, valuation, and investment analysis
• Experience working with property management, leasing, capital projects, and tenant-related initiatives
• Institutional-quality real estate reporting experience
• Experience working with institutional investors or capital partners is highly desirable
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation: Open and dependent upon experience
• Highly competitive employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision benefits
• Strong 401(k) company match
• Long-term stability with an established Bay Area real estate owner/developer
• Entrepreneurial environment with direct access to senior decision-makers
LOCATION
South Peninsula, Bay Area
This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week onsite position and is best suited for someone who enjoys being directly involved with the assets, teams, and decisions that drive portfolio performance.
