Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer – Water/Wastewater

The Opportunity
A growing General Contractor in Northern California is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager / Project Engineer to its Water/Wastewater team in the Bay Area.
This is a great opportunity for someone with at least 3 years of water/wastewater construction experience who wants to take the next step in their career and gain greater responsibility across project delivery and management.
The company has a strong pipeline of work across Northern California and is looking for someone who can grow with the business and progress toward a Project Manager position.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of water and wastewater treatment plant projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement and project documentation
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, forecasting and cost control
- Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, engineers, owners and vendors
- Support field operations and help resolve design and construction issues
- Track materials, equipment and subcontractor scopes
- Assist with progress meetings, owner/client communication and project reporting
- Support commissioning, startup and project closeout activities
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and in accordance with contract requirements
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of construction experience within water/wastewater
- Experience working for a General Contractor or self-performing civil contractor
- Exposure to water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, underground utilities and/or process mechanical construction
- Strong understanding of RFIs, submittals, change orders and construction documentation
- Ability to work closely with both field and project management teams
- Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
- Experience with software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is beneficial
