CBF, Inc. is seeking a driven, detail-oriented, and process-focused Assistant Project Manager (A. PM) to join our San Francisco Electrical Project Management team. This role is designed for individuals with prior construction experience who are ready to take on greater ownership of project coordination, documentation, and field support activities.

The A. PM will work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to help manage commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring that scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.


This is a full-time, salaried exempt position based in our San Francisco office.


Responsibilities

Estimating & Preconstruction Support

• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents during preconstruction

• Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks

• Prepare, review, and manage Requests for Information (RFIs)

• Assist with developing estimates, budgets, scope letters, and bid packages


Project Management & Coordination Support

• Support Project Managers in the overall execution of electrical construction projects

• Assist with project setup, including budgets, cost tracking, and job administration

• Manage assigned scopes of work and coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams

• Support procurement planning and material lead-time tracking

• Track project progress, schedule updates, and milestone completion

• Participate in project meetings and coordinate follow-up actions with stakeholders

• Maintain strong organization and consistency across project workflows, logs, and tracking systems


Contract Administration, Field & Client Coordination

• Process and track change orders, including pricing support and client communication

• Oversee project document control, including drawings, submittals, specifications, and revisions

• Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress and support field coordination

• Assist in resolving field issues, design conflicts, and coordination challenges

• Support communication between field teams, clients, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project execution


Preferred Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction (electrical experience strongly preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred

• Strong understanding of construction documents, schedules, and project workflows

• Highly organized, process-oriented, and detail-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Experience with RFIs, submittals, and change order management

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
