Location: Los Angeles, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 9am to 6pm

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to join our on-site management team at a 284-unit multifamily apartment community in Koreatown.


This position provides direct support to the On-Site Property Manager in the daily operation of the property. The successful candidate will assist with leasing, resident relations, rent collection, maintenance coordination, vendor management, administrative functions, and overall property operations while helping ensure excellent customer service and efficient day-to-day management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the On-Site Property Manager with the daily operation of a 284-unit apartment community.
  • Collect rents and process resident payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Process rent payments and prepare bank deposits as needed.
  • Create, assign, and monitor maintenance work orders using the property management system.
  • Follow up on maintenance requests with maintenance staff and vendors to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests with residents, maintenance staff, and outside vendors.
  • Communicate professionally with residents and prospective residents regarding leasing inquiries, maintenance requests, move-ins, move-outs, property notices, and other day-to-day property matters.
  • Conduct apartment tours and assist with leasing activities, including prospect follow-up to maximize occupancy.
  • Coordinate with the main office regarding accounting, maintenance, operational, and administrative matters.
  • Schedule and coordinate vendor services and monitor work completion.
  • Maintain resident files, leases, and other property records with accuracy.
  • Prepare and submit daily operational reports, including move-in and move-out activity reports, and provide timely updates to the On-Site Property Manager.
  • Assist the On-Site Property Manager with delegated operational and administrative responsibilities to help ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the property.
  • Ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, company policies, and property procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of multifamily apartment management experience.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Property Manager or similar role preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of leasing, resident relations, rent collection, and apartment operations.
  • Experience processing rent payments, preparing bank deposits, and maintaining resident accounts.
  • Experience creating and managing maintenance work orders.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with residents, vendors, maintenance staff, and corporate departments.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar property management software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and California landlord-tenant practices.
