Behavior Interventionist – Palos Verdes Unified School District

Location: Palos Verdes, CA

District: Palos Verdes Unified School District

Position: Behavior Interventionist

Pay: $27/hour on W-2

Schedule: 30 hours/week

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: June 11, 2027


Position Overview


Cross Country Education is seeking Behavior Interventionists (BIs) to support students across middle, and high school settings within Palos Verdes Unified School District. Behavior Interventionists will provide individualized behavioral and academic support using Applied

Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies.


Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 behavioral and instructional support to students using ABA-based strategies
  • Support students with challenging behaviors across school settings
  • Assist with toileting, behavior management, and modification of curriculum and classroom activities as needed
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and specific behavioral goals
  • Collect and maintain accurate behavioral and student progress data
  • Reinforce appropriate behaviors and support positive student interactions
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and school staff
  • Follow individualized student programs and behavior plans under the direction of designated staff
  • Apply appropriate safety precautions and procedures
  • Support students with daily living and functional needs as required


School Settings

BIs may be assigned to support students in:

  • Middle School
  • High School


Candidates must be comfortable working with students across different age groups and supporting students with varying behavioral and developmental needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • ABA experience required
  • B.A. level education preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time work experience in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred/required per district specifications
  • Experience supporting students with developmental or behavioral needs
  • Knowledge of ABA principles, behavior management, and skill acquisition strategies
  • Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and maintain accurate records
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a school-based environment
  • Must be willing to support toileting needs when required


Compensation & Benefits
