Role Description The BMW Master Technician is a full-time, on-site role based at Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining BMW vehicles to manufacturer standards, including complex electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled maintenance and warranty work, conducting detailed inspections, documenting findings, and using BMW diagnostic tools and systems to ensure accurate repairs. The BMW Master Technician collaborates closely with service advisors and fellow technicians to prioritize work, meet service timelines, and uphold safety and quality standards. This role also involves staying current with BMW training, mentoring less-experienced technicians, and contributing to a customer-focused, team-oriented service environment.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in automotive diagnostics, mechanical repair, and electrical systems, ideally with advanced BMW-specific expertise.
- Proficiency with BMW factory diagnostic equipment, software platforms, service information systems, and modern vehicle technologies.
- Experience performing routine maintenance, warranty repairs, and complex drivability, safety, and performance-related troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret repair orders, document work clearly, follow manufacturer procedures, and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership service environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with service advisors, parts personnel, and fellow technicians.
- Current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications and BMW Master Technician or equivalent OEM certifications are highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and eligibility to operate customer and dealership vehicles.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting parts and equipment as required.
- Prior experience in a BMW or luxury-brand dealership service department is a plus, along with a commitment to ongoing training and development.
