Commercial Real Estate Attorney

New York, NY (Hybrid 2 days onsite per week)

Compensation: $100-$140 per hour (negotiable)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Attorney for a full-time contract opportunity with a highly respected law firm in New York. This engagement is expected to last at least six months, with the potential for extension.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions and the ability to independently manage matters from inception through closing.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and joint venture matters.
• Review and analyze title, survey, and due diligence materials.
• Assist with complex real estate financing transactions, including acquisition loans, refinancings, bridge loans, construction loans, and mezzanine financing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate real estate-related agreements, including property management agreements, brokerage agreements, and SNDAs.
• Manage transaction timelines and coordinate all aspects of deal execution.
• Prepare and maintain closing checklists, due diligence trackers, and transaction documents.
• Collaborate with clients, lenders, opposing counsel, title companies, and other stakeholders to ensure successful closings.
• Support transactions through closing and post-closing activities.

Qualifications

• Active New York Bar membership required.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
• Strong experience with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and real estate finance matters.
• Ability to independently manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced deal environment.
• Availability to work full-time for a minimum six-month engagement.
