Jenny Bour with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Industrial HVAC Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects in the WNY area! This Project Manager role oversees planning, execution, and financial performance across HVAC, industrial, and process piping work while keeping teams aligned from kickoff through closeout. The ideal Project Manager candidate brings strong construction knowledge, sound judgment in the field, and the ability to build productive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Direct project planning activities by establishing schedules, coordinating milestones, and anticipating labor and material needs with owners, field teams, and trade partners.
- Conduct routine site visits to review progress, confirm work aligns with contract requirements, and address issues before they affect schedule or cost.
- Keep project communication organized through meetings, status updates, and daily documentation so all stakeholders remain informed.
- Monitor project financials by reviewing costs, approving invoices, and helping maintain performance against budget expectations.
- Manage change orders by evaluating scope adjustments, negotiating terms, and ensuring revisions are documented and executed promptly.
- Arrange the resources needed for successful delivery, including personnel, equipment, and tools required at each phase of the work.
- Provide clear reporting to company leadership on project status, risks, timelines, and overall performance throughout the engagement.
- Strengthen long-term business relationships by working closely with customers, general contractors, and subcontractors in a thorough and responsive manner.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience in mechanical contracting, HVAC construction, industrial piping, or closely related project environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of construction practices, project coordination, and mechanical systems within commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software used for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, field personnel, subcontractors, and corporate leadership.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.
- Project management certification is valued but not required.
