Our client is an established construction firm seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead day-to-day field operations on ground-up senior living construction projects throughout Essex and Somerset Counties. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction professional looking for autonomy, leadership, and the opportunity to take projects from concept through completion.
About the Role
As a Superintendent, you will oversee daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors and vendors, manage schedules and inspections, and ensure senior living projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. You will serve as the primary point of contact in the field while working closely with ownership, design teams, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily site operations, including site layout and coordination of subcontractors and third-party vendors
- Develop and manage construction schedules, including two-week look-aheads, to ensure projects remain on track for timely completion
- Oversee jobsite safety and compliance, enforcing OSHA and site-specific safety policies while maintaining a safe, zero-incident environment
- Coordinate subcontractor, owner, and design team communication, including leading daily/weekly subcontractor meetings and participating in project meetings
- Manage inspections and quality control, coordinating with local authorities, third-party QC engineers, and surveyors
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, RFIs based on field conditions, and detailed meeting minutes
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading daily on-site construction activities, ideally with ground-up senior living or healthcare projects
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and construction safety requirements, with experience maintaining a safe jobsite
- Experience coordinating inspections with local authorities, engineers, surveyors, and other third parties
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills, including daily logs, RFIs, and meeting minutes
