Position Overview

METCON is seeking a Construction Superintendent with 5+ years of experience to oversee field operations on commercial construction projects throughout the Bay Area. This individual will be responsible for on-site supervision, safety enforcement, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring the quality execution of projects in accordance with plans, schedules, and budgets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day on-site operations for commercial construction projects.
  • Lead and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field personnel.
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
  • Conduct weekly site meetings and enforce METCON’s safety
  • Maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and quality control documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to oversee the project schedule, budget, and materials.
  • Interface with clients, inspectors, vendors, and city officials as needed.
  • Coordinate inspections and resolve field issues to maintain project momentum.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times.


Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience as a superintendent or similar role in commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Procore and Microsoft Project.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Valid driver's license


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-end tenant improvements in commercial office, labs, and industrial spaces.


Compensation

  • $100,000 - $160,000/year
