Overview
The Corporate Paralegal serves as a trusted business partner to the Chief Financial Officer, providing high-level legal, executive, and operational support across the organization. This is an in-house corporate position... not a traditional law firm role.
This individual plays a critical role in helping the CFO manage legal matters, executive priorities, corporate governance, contracts, litigation coordination, acquisitions, compliance initiatives, and strategic projects. They also serve as the CFO's executive partner by managing communications, coordinating meetings, preparing presentations, tracking priorities, and ensuring key initiatives continue moving forward.
The ideal candidate combines the technical knowledge of a corporate paralegal with the organization, discretion, and executive presence of a senior executive assistant. They are proactive, resourceful, highly organized, and comfortable working with confidential information while partnering with executive leadership and outside counsel.
Duties
- Draft, review, edit, and organize contracts, agreements, legal correspondence, and corporate documents.
- Coordinate with outside legal counsel on litigation, employment matters, acquisitions, regulatory issues, and corporate transactions.
- Maintain contract databases, monitor renewal dates, and track legal deadlines.
- Support insurance claims, subpoenas, discovery requests, document preservation, and legal records management.
- Prepare and maintain corporate governance records, board materials, entity filings, and executive documentation.
- Conduct legal and business research related to healthcare regulations, employment law, corporate governance, and risk management.
- Assist with due diligence activities for acquisitions, financing, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage the CFO's complex calendar, meetings, travel, and executive priorities.
- Prepare executive presentations, reports, agendas, meeting minutes, and board materials.
- Coordinate meetings with senior leadership, outside counsel, investors, vendors, and business partners.
- Track action items, follow up on executive initiatives, and ensure projects remain on schedule.
- Screen communications and manage sensitive correspondence with professionalism and discretion.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for executive-level matters requiring confidentiality and sound judgment.
- Assist with cross-functional projects involving Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Compliance, Payroll, and Risk Management.
- Organize executive dashboards, project trackers, and strategic planning materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve legal operations, executive workflows, and administrative processes.
- Support special projects as assigned by the CFO and executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting executive leadership in a corporate legal, finance, or executive office environment.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, legal documentation, and corporate governance.
- Exceptional organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
