Cost Accountant (Temp-to-Perm)

6+ months temp-to-perm
Up to $120,000 if converted in the future
Our client, a global manufacturing company, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its Finance team during a significant finance transformation initiative. This is a high-impact opportunity for an accountant who enjoys improving processes, driving change, and partnering across the business to build a more centralized accounting and reporting function.
This position will support month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting, cost accounting, and process improvement initiatives while working closely with operations, engineering, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support POC accounting, revenue recognition, and manufacturing cost accounting.
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analyses, and general ledger reviews.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing to improve accounting processes and reporting.
- Help identify inefficiencies, implement best practices, and support the company's finance transformation.
- Assist with audits, internal controls, ERP enhancements, and cross-functional projects.
- Support day-to-day accounting activities including AP, AR, fixed assets, and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing.
- Experience with cost accounting and Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- ERP experience required; M3 is highly preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills.
