Customs Broker at a Leading Japanese Logistics Company in the O'Hare Area (Wood Dale, IL)

- Report to: CEO

- Compensation : $75,000~$95,000 -Exempt

Qualifications:

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License (Required)

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a customs brokerage or freight forwarding role

• Strong knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, and country of origin rules

• Familiarity with ACE Portal, CTPAT, TSA documentation, and other customs software platforms

Key Responsibilities:

• Classify imported goods in accordance with the HTSUS

• Utilize ACE Portal for applicable functions such as AES filings, protests, and other regulatory activities

• Maintain compliance with U.S. customs laws and regulations

• Communicate with CBP and other government agencies (FDA, USDA, etc.)

• Oversee CTPAT procedures and TSA requirements

• Advise clients and internal teams on customs-related matters

• Review and maintain customs documentation and records

• Train and mentor junior operations and import team members

• Stay current with regulatory changes and industry trends
