Job Summary:
The Director, Financial Reporting will direct the planning, preparation and review of the consolidated financial statements and analysis of the Company for internal and external financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance with financial regulations, including SOX compliance, and timely submission. The Director, Financial Reporting will report to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) and will be asked to support all team members within the company on an as-needed basis and with all aspects of the company’s business. This position will serve as a strategic partner to the CAO, driving improvements in reporting accuracy, transparency, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
- Lead the end-to-end preparation and submission of external reporting documents, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K, and other filing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and other applicable regulations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors by organizing audit activities, aligning on timelines, and facilitating efficient communication throughout the engagement.
- Drive the resolution of audit issues, accounting questions, and reporting matters by coordinating with business partners and providing clear recommendations.
- Track new accounting guidance and regulatory developments, lead implementation efforts, and prepare technical accounting analyses for complex transactions or reporting issues.
- Oversee internal controls related to financial reporting, including control design, documentation, testing support and ongoing process enhancement.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, risk leadership, and process owners to assess control performance, address deficiencies and strengthen the overall control environment.
- Develop/update standardized accounting policies, internal controls, procedures, and financial consolidation processes.
- Train, mentor, and supervise accounting team.
