Director of Analytics

Overview

A rapidly growing omnichannel media agency focused on performance and growth marketing is seeking a Director of Analytics to join its team. This newly created leadership role will be responsible for delivering high-impact analytics and measurement solutions for clients, leading and developing a growing analytics team, and helping advance the agency’s proprietary technology and measurement capabilities.

The Director will serve as a key leader within the Analytics Center of Excellence, partnering closely with Strategy, Client Solutions, and other cross-functional teams to ensure analytics and measurement directly support client business objectives.

The ideal candidate combines deep media analytics expertise with strong leadership, technical, and client-facing skills. This person should have extensive experience across paid media channels, particularly performance media, and be comfortable translating sophisticated measurement methodologies into clear business recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of client-facing reporting, analytics, insights, and measurement solutions across multiple media channels.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve analytics processes, data integration, and measurement consistency across client portfolios.
  • Translate complex analytical outputs—including attribution models, contribution analysis, forecasts, and scenario planning—into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to identify opportunities for optimization, measurement improvements, and additional analytics engagements.
  • Develop project scopes and proposals that translate client business challenges into analytics and measurement solutions.
  • Collaborate with Strategy, Client Solutions, and Centers of Excellence to ensure analytics supports broader business and media objectives.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the analytics team, providing both day-to-day leadership and long-term career development.
  • Establish a culture centered around collaboration, continuous learning, accountability, and analytical excellence.
  • Partner with senior analytics leadership to maintain, enhance, and evolve the agency's proprietary technology and data infrastructure.
  • Help ensure analytics systems remain accurate, efficient, scalable, and aligned with evolving client and industry requirements.
  • Support new business opportunities by presenting analytics capabilities, measurement approaches, and demonstrated business impact.
  • Lead advanced measurement engagements, including Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), incrementality testing, and unified measurement frameworks.
  • Develop scalable measurement methodologies that can be consistently applied across clients and incorporated into technology platforms.
  • Contribute to the agency's broader measurement strategy, point of view, and thought leadership.

Required Skills & Expertise

  • Strong understanding of performance marketing metrics, KPIs, attribution, ROI, and business outcomes, with the ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python for data querying, preparation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Experience with analytics, reporting, and visualization platforms such as Looker, Funnel, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
  • Strong technical aptitude and experience managing, improving, or scaling sophisticated analytics and data environments.
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying Marketing Mix Models (MMM), including adstock and saturation transformations, Ridge/Bayesian regression techniques, validation, and budget/scenario forecasting.
  • Experience designing and interpreting incrementality testing, including geo experiments, holdout tests, matched-market approaches, and conversion lift studies.
  • Understanding of multi-touch attribution (MTA) methodologies and their practical limitations across walled gardens and cross-channel media environments.
  • Familiarity with causal inference methodologies such as synthetic control and difference-in-differences for media measurement.
  • Experience with media measurement and analytics platforms such as Measured, Northbeam, Recast, Triple Whale, Prescient, or comparable solutions.
  • Ability to critically assess measurement outputs and determine how they should inform broader media and business strategy.

Qualifications

  • 8–10+ years of experience in analytics, measurement, or a related discipline, ideally within the media or marketing ecosystem.
  • Extensive experience analyzing media performance across digital, social, programmatic, television, and other paid media channels.
  • Strong background in performance marketing and media measurement, with the ability to connect campaign-level data to business outcomes.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing analytics professionals, with demonstrated success building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting complex analysis to clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to identify opportunities and drive change.
  • Strong understanding of media planning, buying, optimization, and measurement.
  • Experience within a full-service media agency, performance marketing agency, consultancy, or similarly client-focused environment.
  • Comfortable operating independently while maintaining a high degree of accountability.
  • Strategic thinker who can balance long-term initiatives with immediate client and business needs.
