Role Description
The Director of Finance and Accounting is a full-time, on-site role based in La Mirada, CA or Colton, CA. This role oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and the preparation and analysis of financial statements. Responsibilities include managing accounting processes, month-end and year-end close, cash flow monitoring, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The director will lead and develop the finance, accounting, and administrative team, collaborate with leadership on strategic financial planning, and provide data-driven insights to support operational decisions. The role also involves working with external auditors, refining internal controls, and implementing process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and financial transparency.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and accounting expertise, including Finance, Financial Planning, and Financial Reporting skills.
- Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, with solid Analytical Skills to interpret results and trends.
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and general ledger activities in a corporate or dealership environment.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a finance and accounting team, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Advanced skills with accounting and ERP software, along with Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or similar certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements; experience coordinating external audits is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Experience in construction equipment, automotive, or similar dealership or distribution environments is a plus.
