Platinum Pest Solutions — Lansing, IL Full-Time, Exempt | Up to 15% Travel
Salary Range: $110,000 – $135,000 base + 10–20% bonus target

About the Opportunity; Platinum Pest Solutions is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join our executive leadership team. Built around strong operational accountability, clear key metrics, and values-driven leadership, this role will establish multi-state compliance and pay bands, oversee a software transition, and support ongoing geographic expansion.
Role Scope & Key Accountabilities
- Workforce & Retention: Own employee turnover, time-to-fill, and quality-of-hire metrics; design first 90-day on-boarding programs and build hiring plans for new market openings.
- Compensation & Benefits: Build and defend multi-state pay bands; manage benefits administration, renewals, and annual performance review cycles.
- Compliance & Risk: Ensure multi-state labor law compliance; oversee occupational licensing, driver safety records, workers' compensation, and workplace investigations.
- Systems & Structure: Evaluate, select, and implement a modern HRIS platform; author clear policies and accountability structures.
Key Benchmarks
- First 90 Days: Conduct field visits across all markets; establish baseline turnover tracking by tenure/market; complete a multi-state labor and licensing compliance audit.
- First 12 Months: Drive a downward trend in first-year field turnover; roll out updated handbooks and pay structures; complete a successful HRIS rollout.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience); 7+ years of progressive HR experience with 3+ years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Field Workforce Expertise: Direct experience supporting a distributed hourly workforce (route-based employees, technicians, drivers, or field crews).
- Compliance & Investigations: Multi-state labor law experience; proven hands-on experience conducting workplace investigations and maintaining compliant documentation.
- Compensation & Metrics: Direct track record owning retention/turnover metrics and constructing multi-market pay bands.
- AI & Tech Proficiency: Hands-on experience using modern productivity and AI tools for policy drafting, data analysis, and documentation efficiency.
Preferred:
- SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
- Background in route-based service, facilities management, construction, trades, or logistics.
- Experience tracking occupational or state licensing compliance.
- Prior experience selecting and implementing an HRIS platform.
- Experience expanding into new state markets or working within structured leadership frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $110,000 – $135,000 annually
- Performance Bonus: Target 10% – 20% tied to company and individual results
