Confidential Search | El Segundo, CA
$175K–$210K Base + 20% Bonus + Benefits
Onsite | Portfolio Travel Required
Career Strategies is partnering with a privately held multifamily real estate investment and property management company on a confidential search for an experienced Director of Operations based out of its corporate office in El Segundo, CA.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a proven multifamily operator who can drive portfolio performance, strengthen property-level operations, develop high-performing teams, and take ownership of financial results.
The Director of Operations will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership across a multi-site multifamily portfolio, with responsibility for property operations, financial performance, revenue strategy, resident experience, staffing, and operational execution.
Key responsibilities include:
• Lead portfolio operations across leasing, resident relations, maintenance, collections, and property performance
• Own P&L accountability and drive NOI through revenue growth, expense control, and operational efficiencies
• Prepare annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, and executive-level financial reporting
• Establish revenue targets and ensure execution against portfolio objectives
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement and expense reduction
• Lead value-add initiatives, including unit renovations and common-area improvements
• Recruit, develop, coach, and manage Property Managers and operational leaders
• Drive consistency, accountability, and standardized operating practices across the portfolio
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Marketing, Legal, Technology, and Asset Management
• Leverage technology and operational data to improve portfolio performance
Required Experience
• 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in multifamily operations or portfolio management
• 5+ years leading multi-site teams and people managers
• Strong background in market-rate multifamily property management
• Demonstrated P&L ownership and financial accountability
• Experience overseeing budgets, revenue performance, expense management, and operational KPIs
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred OR 10+ years of equivalent property management experience
• Ability to work onsite in El Segundo, CA and travel regularly to assigned communities
Preferred Technology Experience
Experience with platforms such as Yardi Voyager, Yardi Forecast, RentCafe, CRM IQ, Grace Hill/Aspire, Avid, Yardi Smart AP, EliseAI, SOCi, Blue Moon, and Microsoft Office is highly desirable.
Compensation
$175,000–$210,000 base salary + 20% bonus + benefits
