eDiscovery Senior Project Manager - New York City - $175,000 to $220,000

Overview:

APT Search is representing a global law firm on a Senior Project Manager hire within its Practice Technology team, supporting disputes, investigations, arbitrations and trials. The role runs the full lifecycle of litigation technology projects, from early case assessment through to trial, and reports to a Manager in the disputes group. This is a strategic and hands-on seat, so it suits an eDiscovery project manager who wants ownership of complex matters and exposure to AI and GenAI review workflows rather than a purely process-driven role.

Responsibilities of this eDiscovery Senior Project Manager:

• Lead and oversee all phases of legal technology and eDiscovery projects, ensuring quality, efficiency and defensibility.
• Manage end-to-end support for complex matters, including white collar, antitrust, arbitration and regulatory investigations.
• Coordinate the identification, preservation, collection, processing, review and production of ESI and paper files.
• Act as primary liaison with the firm's managed services provider, overseeing eDiscovery and disclosure matters.
• Partner with legal technology vendors to design, deliver and maintain solutions aligned to practice needs, and assist with vendor selection and negotiation.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior legal stakeholders, guiding teams through ambiguity and delivering defensible solutions under pressure.
• Advise attorneys on best practice for legal technology and eDiscovery, including appropriate use cases and workflows for review and analytics tooling.
• Support the implementation, roll-out and adoption of practice technologies, working cross-functionally with technical and procurement teams.
• Develop, document and promote best practice for AI and GenAI enabled and automation technologies.
• Provide hands-on support and training on legal technology platforms, and maintain in-depth knowledge of vendor tools.
• Communicate with case teams on discovery management, including budget updates, production planning and project reporting.

Requirements of this eDiscovery Senior Project Manager:

• 8+ years of legal technology experience, preferably gained in AmLaw 100 firms, Big 4 or eDiscovery vendors.
• Proven track record managing complex electronic discovery projects, including government investigations and cross-border matters.
• Deep understanding of the eDiscovery lifecycle, legal standards such as EDRM and Sedona, and evolving case law.
• Strong knowledge of data processing, vendor deliverables and database and workflow design for review and analysis.
• Experience managing large-scale matters across multiple offices, domestic and international.
• Hands-on experience with eDiscovery tools including AI, GenAI and TAR workflows, and platforms such as Relativity and Relativity aiR.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and resolving complex technical issues independently.
• Bachelor's degree preferred. RCA certification strongly preferred.
• Experience of change management within large law firms a plus.
