Chefler Foods is seeking a hands-on EHS Manager who enjoys working directly with employees, supervisors, and operational teams.
This role is designed for someone who wants to be present in production and warehouse areas, identify hazards, coach safe behaviors, support training, and help prevent incidents before they happen.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Maintain a strong and consistent Safety presence throughout production, warehouse, shipping, and receiving areas
• Conduct routine Safety walks, observations, inspections, and follow-up reviews
• Identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential workplace hazards, and address serious concerns promptly
• Coach employees and supervisors on safe work practices and reinforce established Safety expectations
• Monitor PPE compliance and support corrective action when repeated or serious violations occur
• Support forklift and powered industrial truck Safety, including observations, retraining, and operator evaluations
• Respond to injuries, first-aid cases, near misses, property damage events, and other Safety incidents
• Assist with incident investigations, employee interviews, photographs, video review, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action tracking
• Support new-hire Safety orientation, toolbox talks, refresher training, and other floor-based training activities
• Assist with programs involving Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, PPE, Hazard Communication, ergonomics, material handling, and emergency response
• Participate in emergency drills and facility inspections and support Safety Champions and First Responders
• Maintain accurate Safety inspection, training, observation, and corrective-action records
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We want someone who is comfortable walking onto the floor, engaging employees, asking questions, identifying risk, speaking up when something does not look right, and who is motivated by preventing injuries and strengthening workplace Safety.

• Confident addressing unsafe behaviors and conditions
• Observant, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Strong communicator with employees, supervisors, and management
• Organized and capable of maintaining accurate documentation
• Able to work independently while supporting a larger operational team
QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or GED required
• One to three years of experience in Safety, EHS, manufacturing, warehousing, food production, distribution, or a related environment preferred
• Working knowledge of OSHA workplace Safety requirements preferred
• Experience conducting workplace inspections or Safety training preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour certification
• Forklift Trainer or Train-the-Trainer certification
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
• Experience with workplace incident investigations
• Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, PPE, Hazard Communication, and powered industrial truck requirements
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are highly desirable
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is primarily a floor-based Safety position, not a desk-based role.
Candidates should be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods, working around forklifts and manufacturing equipment, wearing required PPE, and responding to Safety concerns throughout the facility.
Schedule flexibility may occasionally be required to support multiple shifts, training, investigations, or operational needs.
