Job opening
Family Law Attorney
Freed Marcroft Divorce and Family Law
Full job description
Picture your next five years as a family law attorney. Real courtroom time. Cases of increasing nuance. A retired Connecticut Superior Court judge available for a second opinion or a gut check before you walk into chambers. Partners and senior attorneys with decades in the trenches, genuinely available when you need them. A firm that provides you with clients instead of asking you to go out and find them.
If you're not sure that's what the next five years look like right now, keep reading.
What's Different Here
At Freed Marcroft, attorneys practice law. That's structural, not a slogan. Clients are delivered to you. Practicing attorneys don't do consultations. When you're out, the team covers you. Your paralegals run interference so you can focus on strategy and clients.
We're serious lawyers who also genuinely like each other.
What We're Looking For
Real family law experience. Courtroom time, contested matters, actual responsibility. Two strong years counts. Five counts more. Connecticut bar admission in good standing required.
We're not looking for someone who needs to be taught what family law is. We're looking for someone ready to do it better, inside a firm built to support that.
What You'll Do
- Serve as primary attorney on contested and negotiated divorce, custody, and other family law matters
- Exercise independent judgment with experienced colleagues available
- Draft and argue motions, appear in court, counsel clients directly
- Practice without administrative friction eating your best hours
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation + bonus potential
- 1,400 annual billable hours
- No rainmaking requirement (origination credited when it happens)
- Hybrid: work from home, in office, or both
- Health insurance, 401(k) match, disability coverage, paid leave
