Job Opportunity Senior Financial Accounting and Compliance Analyst

I am currently representing a leading organization looking to add a Senior Financial Accounting and Compliance Analyst to their corporate finance team in Morris Plains, New Jersey. This is a hybrid position designed for a detail oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic corporate setting. My client is seeking an individual to oversee the integrity of their financial reporting, manage internal controls, and ensure strict adherence to US GAAP standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing complex corporate accounting areas during the month and quarter end close processes. This includes handling stock based compensation, pension obligations, debt activity, and environmental liability estimates. You will be expected to prepare detailed journal entries and account reconciliations while meeting all established reporting deadlines.

A significant portion of this position involves financial analysis and reporting. You will perform fluctuation analyses for balance sheets and income statements, investigating any significant period over period variances. You will also prepare the necessary documentation and schedules used for both management reporting and external financial disclosures.

Regarding internal controls, you will maintain and update SOX documentation, including risk matrices and process narratives. You will act as a primary point of contact for audit requests, providing necessary evidence and explanations to both internal and external auditors. The firm is also looking for someone who can identify and implement process improvements to enhance the existing control environment.

Collaboration is key to this role. You will work cross functionally with HR, Treasury, Tax, and FP and A teams to gather data and ensure reporting accuracy. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to participate in special projects such as the implementation of new accounting standards and the automation of financial systems.

Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of US GAAP. Experience in a fast paced corporate environment and a background in complex corporate accounting areas are highly preferred.
