About the Company
Advantage Tennis Clubs (HCK Recreation, Inc.) is one of New York City’s oldest and premier indoor tennis and racquet clubs. With three locations and an extensive tennis teaching and summer camp network across the city, our mission is to provide an exceptional experience in the dynamic world of tennis and racquet sports. With more than 50 years of history and a significant presence in New York City’s tennis community, Advantage Tennis Clubs is a place where people build careers and lasting relationships. Many members of our team have been with us for years—even decades—and we take pride in creating a stable, supportive, and team-oriented workplace.
We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused, and proactive Front Desk Associate to join our team at New York Tennis Club Indoors in the Bronx. You do not need to be an avid tennis player to succeed in this role, although an interest in or enjoyment of tennis is certainly a plus. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping people, and is comfortable taking ownership of the facility during their shift.
About the Role
The Front Desk Associate is the operational hub of the club. This position goes well beyond answering phones and booking courts. You will help ensure that the facility operates smoothly, safely, and professionally while providing an excellent experience for members, guests, and tennis professionals. During your shift, you will serve as the eyes and ears of the facility. You will maintain awareness of what is happening throughout the club, identify and communicate issues, document important information, and follow up to ensure that operational concerns are addressed. This position does not mean supervising other departments. Instead, you will be responsible for observing, communicating, documenting, and appropriately escalating issues while continuing to monitor them through resolution. The ideal candidate is someone who treats the club as if it were their own: alert, organized, dependable, proactive, and comfortable working independently.

- Facility Operations & Awareness
- Act as the operational eyes and ears of the facility throughout your shift.
- Maintain continuous awareness of activity across all six courts, including which Pros and clients are using each court.
- Know the daily court schedule and identify unauthorized court use, scheduling conflicts, billing issues, or other irregularities.
- Ensure that every client and teaching professional is signed in immediately upon arrival.
- Verify that players and Pros have completed the club’s required online Liability Waiver before participating in tennis activities.
- Maintain accurate, real-time awareness of everyone in the building, including members, Pros, guests, vendors, contractors, maintenance personnel, and delivery personnel.
- Track Pro pay for courts where teaching is taking place.

- Support opening and closing procedures and monitor access to the building.
- Maintain accurate occupancy awareness so management can quickly account for everyone in the facility during an emergency or operational issue.
- Assist with light operational tasks when needed, including restocking supplies, folding towels, basic cleanup, light snow removal from walkways, and helping maintain court readiness when maintenance staff are unavailable.
- Communication & Follow-Through
- Serve as a communication hub between members, Pros, maintenance staff, and management.
- Communicate operational issues clearly and promptly to the appropriate team member.
- Escalate issues to Management when appropriate and continue monitoring them until they are resolved.
- Maintain accurate administrative records and complete reporting as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers to ensure that everyone understands what is needed to keep the club operating at its best.
- Take ownership of the entire facility during your shift and ensure that important issues do not go unnoticed or unresolved.
Qualifications
