We are partnered with a leading renewable energy tech platform looking to bring in a new General Counsel to lead their team. This role will be based out of their offices in the Bay Area.


The ideal candidate has broad legal exposure across renewable energy, is comfortable leading and owning the full legal operation of a scaling firm, and has extensive Offtake and PPA experience.


Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited Law School and membership in at least 1 state bar association.
  • 7+ years of legal experience in the renewable energy sector, with ideally 2+ years working in-house.
  • Comfortable wearing many hats and working in a cross-functional environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and effective risk management across departments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various documents necessary for renewable energy projects, including options, purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, subordination agreements, PPAs, and other related documents.
  • Prepare and negotiate interconnection agreements, permits, regulatory filings, and other contractual agreements tied to the development and construction of projects.
  • Assist with title-related matters, including reviewing title documents, resolving title issues, negotiating title insurance policies, and handling related concerns.
  • Advise on and assist with various other legal matters as necessary.
