Today, d'strict provides custom-developed content upon request (Commercial Service), offers clients a license to media art content, and operates our own exhibition venues (Art Service).

d'strict is the creator of numerous highly-acclaimed public art projects, including at K-Pop Square in Seoul, and at Times Square, New York. We are also the producer and operator of "ARTE MUSEUM," the most popular media art exhibition space in Korea. [ARTE MUSEUM]

ARTE MUSEUM is an immersive media art exhibition space presented by d'strict, acclaimed for creating the public media art 'WAVE' at COEX in Korea. Exhibits at ARTE MUSEUM center around the theme 'ETERNAL NATURE,' reinterpreting various elements and spaces in nature as immersive media art. The artworks, brought to life through the fusion of various digital media technologies and visual creativity, capture nature's eternal attributes and realistic presentation, allowing visitors to experience nature unconstrained by time and space.

ARTE MUSEUM is a global exhibition brand that launched its first venue in Jeju, South Korea, in September 2020. Since its inception, ARTE MUSEUM has extended its reach to major cities around the globe, establishing itself as a popular exhibition with a cumulative total of five million visitors. [Position]

General Manager, ARTE MUSEUM Los Angeles

Location: Santa Monica, CA (onsite, 5 days/week at the SM museum)

Reports to: Head of Group, d’strict holdings


Job Summary

The position of General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall management of the museum, including human resource management, accounting, sales, marketing, system maintenance, and operation. The General Manager also manages special projects, organizes, and supervises executive outreach and external relations initiatives, and acts as a point of contact for the headquarters. Strong written and verbal communication, administrative and organizational abilities, the capacity to maintain a reasonable balance among many priorities, and the capacity to use excellent judgment in a range of scenarios. This is a crucial role that requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, interpersonal skills and a passion for the Company’s growth.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Comprehensively manage a team of related teams such as human resources, accounting, marketing, system maintenance and operations, etc.

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure that the museum grows steadily and sustainably to meet organizational goals and objectives.

• Work according to the work schedule, including weekends and public holidays, as the ARTE MUSEUM operates year-round in the service industry. Be prepared for rotating shifts based on working hours.

• Actively support the Front of House (FOH) duties at the operational site when it is busy and additional assistance is needed.

• Hire qualified candidates for the Company, ensuring they understand their required roles and responsibilities. Share updates on the hiring process with d’strict Korea.

• Conduct thorough training for newly hired employees the Company and relevant products (ticket sales, retail), ongoing exhibitions, and hardware systems.

• Continuously monitor the visitor experience through social media feedback received from the marketing team and take necessary corrective actions. Share this information with the Korean subsidiary.

• Ensure smooth and professional operations of both the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) teams, delivering an excellent level of service and complying with all exhibition policies and procedures.

• Collaborate closely with HR Director US and all departments of the Company to effectively communicate promotions, events, activations, and other initiatives. Manage these activities from a visitor's perspective and ensure they are included in the programming calendar of the Company.

• Conduct fair performance evaluations for the Company employees annually and share the results with d’strict Korea.

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure that the museum grows steadily and sustainably to meet organizational goals and objectives.

• Manage and lead employees in the field, not just in the office.

• Continuous benchmarking fosters sustainable growth for ARTE MUSEUM.

• Engage in brand image making, planning and executing various promotional activities including devising marketing strategies.

• As a representative of ARTE MUSEUM, engaging with external stakeholders and maintain positive relationships with local governments, agencies, media, etc.

• Report the overall status of the Company to d’strict Korea and related personals.

• Provide monthly reports to management on key issues in each area.

• Accurately communicating the headquarters' work orders to employees.

• Manage management team as concurrent position with Management team as manager

Job Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 10+ years of work experience in a similar position with customer-facing experience.

• Overall understanding of the exhibition or tourism industry.

• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

• Ability to supervise and lead a multicultural team, effectively delegating tasks based on priority.

• Proficiency in delivering concise presentations and training, tailored to the absorption skills of each team member.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make pragmatic decisions in the best interest of the business.

• Strong ability to collaborate and build relationships with other departments.

• Proficient knowledge of customer service principles and standard office practices and procedures.

• High proficiency in using MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

• Familiarity with standard office equipment and its efficient use.

• Demonstrated high-level leadership skills.

• Passionate and responsible attitude towards work.

• Human-oriented management mindsets

• Ability to cope with and manage emergency or unexpected situations

• Excellent analytical skill data of platform business

This is a full-time Salary Exempt role. Compensation range $130,000 to $155,000
