Job Description
We are seeking an Accountant II to support accounting functions related to GCD Content Licensing contracts. This role is focused heavily on general ledger accounting, reconciliations, month-end and quarter-end close, revenue recognition, and audit support.
Responsibilities
- Complete financial month-end and quarter-end close processes, including revenue recognition and Trial Balance reconciliations
- Perform general ledger reconciliations and create journal entries for GL posting
- Analyze and report on GCD license agreements, including license fee calculations and payment terms
- Analyze and explain monthly foreign exchange variances
- Analyze actual performance against forecast and plan
- Perform present value analysis and reporting
- Support intercompany and related-party reporting and analysis
- Perform quarterly bad debt analysis
- Complete clearing account and BITIN cash reconciliations
- Track and report revenue share deals
- Support internal compliance audits and external audits, including PWC and EY
- Ensure SOX and other key controls are followed and supported
- Review contracts and change orders within PRISM systems for financial accuracy
- Review accounting transactions created by PRISM for accuracy
- Maintain Pay TV deals in PRISM, investigate issues, and work with IT on system changes as needed
- Perform revenue review and analysis, including stagger, non-delivery, straight-line DSTAR revenue, renewal license fees, and cash in advance
- Support entitlements, non-theatrical, and TREC reconciliations and reporting
- Prepare ad hoc financial reporting and analysis
- Work overtime as needed during month-end and quarter-end periods, including weekend work during quarter-end
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 3 to 6 years of experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong general ledger reconciliation experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to research issues and provide solution-driven results
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Entertainment industry or studio accounting experience preferred
- CPA preferred
