Tradebe is seeking a proactive Regional Health & Safety Specialist to support our Northeast Region. Reporting to the Regional Health & Safety Manager, this role partners closely with site leadership and frontline employees across multiple facilities to strengthen and sustain a strong safety culture.


The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs across multiple Operations facilities, including wastewater treatment, transportation, lab pack, and field services. This is a hands-on position requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with Operations teams.


By engaging with employees, the Regional H&S Specialist will promote safe work practices, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives—helping to make safety an integral part of daily operations.


Key Job Responsibilities

Safety Policies & Programs:

  • Review and update policies and standards necessary to establish and maintain a culture of health and safety.
  • Participates in the execution of health and safety plans, programs, procedures, and emergency response/contingency plans to help ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies and standards.


Training and Education:

  • Develop training materials and provide training for employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and use of safety equipment.
  • Coordinates and supports training efforts, including safety new hire orientation, user-level training, and periodic refresher training such as Site Specific Contractor Training and HAZWOPER and medical monitoring.


Equipment and PPE Management:

  • Oversee the proper use and maintenance of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Verify that appropriate PPE is provided to employees.


Safety Inspections and Incident Investigations:

  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions in the EHS reporting system (Novara).
  • Support workplace incidents, accidents, or near miss investigations and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence.


Emergency Preparedness:

  • Maintains emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Coordinates drills and training exercises to ensure preparedness for emergencies.


Record Keeping and reporting:

  • Maintains accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training sessions.
  • Prepares reports on the status of health and safety programs, incidents, and compliance for management and regulatory authorities such as OSHA reports, as required.


Safety Committees:

  • Participate in the Safety Committees of all the facilities and support with the coordination and organization of them.
  • Support and coach Safety and Compliance Liaison at office, transportation logistics, and ancillary locations on the implementation, training, and messaging around health and safety programs.
