Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Generalist to support a broad range of Human Resources functions, including employee relations, payroll, performance management, recruiting, benefits and leave administration, compliance, and HR operations.
The HR Generalist will work closely with managers and employees to address workplace matters, interpret company policies, support employment compliance, and recommend appropriate solutions. This position requires strong judgment, confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage assigned HR responsibilities and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR guidance to managers and employees regarding employee relations, performance management, workplace conduct, company policies, and employment practices.
- Handle employee relations matters, including gathering information, conducting or supporting workplace investigations, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate actions.
- Support managers with performance concerns, coaching, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and related documentation.
- Administer the company's performance review process, including timelines, communications, manager guidance, review of evaluations, and follow-up.
- Review performance evaluations for completeness and consistency and identify potential employee relations or compliance concerns.
- Manage and coordinate payroll processing, including review of timekeeping records, new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll transactions.
- Review payroll information for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate appropriate corrections with employees, managers, and the payroll provider.
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour and employment requirements.
- Manage recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination and participation, candidate evaluation, and hiring recommendations.
- Coordinate onboarding, employee transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and employee separations.
- Administer employee benefits and support leave of absence and accommodation processes.
- Interpret and apply company policies and HR procedures to individual workplace situations.
- Maintain accurate HRIS and employee records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
- Prepare and review HR communications, employment documentation, reports, and other HR materials.
- Analyze HR information and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Participate in HR compliance reviews, audits, and other HR projects.
- Independently manage assigned HR projects and recommend improvements to HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of HR Generalist or similar Human Resources experience.
- Experience with payroll processing and HRIS systems; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of federal and California employment and wage and hour laws.
- Experience with employee relations and performance management.
- Experience supporting recruiting, benefits, leave administration, and other HR functions.
- Ability to analyze HR issues, evaluate alternatives, and exercise sound independent judgment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
- Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Fluency in both Korean and English is required, as this position regularly communicates with Korean-speaking employees, managers, and business partners as part of its essential job responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English.
PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification is a plus.
Pay Range : $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
