Human Factors Engineer | Operator Station Design (Contract)

About the Role Mytra is developing operator stations across its automated material system, with a near-term focus on case picking. We're looking for a Human Factors Engineer to lead the usability strategy for both — shaping layout, task flow, and placement decisions based on how operators actually work, and validating those decisions through structured testing. This person will drive research and testing direction, with our engineers and designers executing the resulting changes alongside them.

Responsibilities Lead usability research, prototyping, and testing for the case pick operator station, from early concept through validation. Prototyping efforts should be focused on efforts where UX and ergonomics are the focus. Define best-practice pick flows and ergonomic placement of controls, displays, and pick/place zones for case pick. Conduct task analysis, time-motion studies, and usability testing with real operators across both station types Translate findings into clear design requirements and work directly with the design team on execution Identify safety, fatigue, and error-risk factors in station design and recommend mitigations Human Factors Engineer | Operator Station Design (Contract) 1 Iterate on station design across multiple test-and-refine cycles

Qualifications Background in human factors engineering, ergonomics, or a related field — ideally applied to industrial, warehouse, or manufacturing workstations Hands-on experience running usability studies and translating findings into concrete design changes Comfortable working directly with product designers and engineers to influence execution, not just deliver research reports Experience with case picking, order fulfillment, or other high-repetition manual tasks is a plus Able to work onsite/hybrid to support in-person creation and testing of physical mockups Experience validating designs against OSHA or similar standards. 8-10+ years of experience
