Job Title: Robotics Controls Engineer (Robotics Online Programmer)

Location: Decatur, IL — Onsite

Full Time

Experience: 5–9 years preferred

Job Summary


We are seeking a Robotics Online Programmer to support robotic manufacturing and automation operations at Decatur, Illinois facility. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with physical robot design, control logic, robot reachability, and industrial robotics, with the ability to support onsite manufacturing and production environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, and optimize robot control logic for manufacturing applications.
  • Perform robot reachability and accessibility analysis to ensure efficient and safe robot operation.
  • Support the physical design and integration of robotic systems within manufacturing environments.
  • Program and troubleshoot industrial robotic systems and associated automation equipment.
  • Analyze robot paths, tooling, work envelopes, and production processes.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, controls, mechanical, electrical, and engineering teams.
  • Troubleshoot robotic equipment and resolve production-related issues.
  • Support installation, commissioning, testing, and optimization of robotic systems.
  • Ensure robotic designs and applications comply with applicable ASME and industry standards.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, programming changes, and engineering records.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, cycle time, and equipment reliability.


Required Qualifications

  • 5–9 years of relevant robotics/automation experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial robotics and robot programming.
  • Strong understanding of robot reachability/reach studies and work envelopes.
  • Experience developing or modifying robot control logic.
  • Knowledge of physical robot/system design and integration.
  • Understanding of ASME standards and manufacturing safety requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully onsite manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Robotics simulation/programming software.
  • PLC/controls experience.
  • Robot offline/online programming.
  • Manufacturing automation and .
  • Experience with automotive/heavy equipment/manufacturing environments.
