Full job description
A well-established and growing property management organization is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function across a large, multi-site workforce. This is a critical leadership role supporting corporate, regional, onsite property, leasing, maintenance, affordable housing, and operations teams.
The successful candidate will serve as a strategic business partner to executive leadership while providing hands-on leadership across employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, HR operations, payroll coordination, and workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all HR and compliance functions across a multi-site property management portfolio
- Partner with executive and operational leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, employee relations, and risk management
- Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, training, retention, and succession planning initiatives
- Manage employee relations matters, investigations, performance management, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation
- Ensure compliance with California employment law, wage and hour regulations, Fair Housing requirements, and HR best practices
- Drive HR process improvements, SOP development, HRIS optimization, and scalable people programs
- Lead and develop an established HR team while fostering a culture of accountability, service, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- 5+ years leading HR teams in a Director-level or senior HR leadership capacity
- Required: Property management, real estate, multifamily, affordable housing, or multi-site real estate operations experience
- Strong background in employee relations, investigations, compliance, recruiting, onboarding, payroll coordination, and HR operations
- Deep knowledge of California employment law and multi-site workforce management
- Experience supporting field-based, onsite, maintenance, leasing, corporate, and leadership populations
