About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and people-focused HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This role serves as a trusted HR partner to employees and managers across the region, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, recruiting, compliance, training, and HR policies and processes.
The ideal candidate is a confident HR professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment, building strong relationships, solving problems, and helping leaders and employees succeed. Temporary role, Located in Buena Park Offering $30-38/hr.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as an HR partner and resource to managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employee-related matters.
- Manage and resolve employee relations concerns and conduct fair, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, corrective action, employee development, transfers, and terminations.
- Administer the performance management process for non-management employees and help ensure timely completion of performance reviews.
- Review timekeeping and attendance information, identify issues, and support compliance with meal and rest break requirements.
- Partner with HR team members to ensure a smooth and consistent new hire onboarding and orientation experience.
- Lead recruiting efforts for supervisor and management positions and support broader recruiting initiatives, including job fairs, career events, and networking opportunities.
- Develop and deliver HR training, including leadership orientation, harassment prevention, labor law updates, and other leadership development programs.
- Analyze HR trends and workforce metrics to identify opportunities and develop practical solutions, programs, and processes.
- Prepare and distribute HR reports related to attendance, hours, performance reviews, and other workforce information.
- Support compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and communicate regulatory updates to leadership.
- Coach and develop HR Administrators and Coordinators in designated areas of HR.
- Conduct regular visits to warehouse and department locations to support HR programs, employee communications, safety initiatives, and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead LEAN initiatives that improve efficiency, teamwork, productivity, and results.
- Foster a workplace culture where employees feel respected, supported, and comfortable sharing questions, concerns, and ideas.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure HR practices support a safe and compliant work environment.
- Participate in HR projects, training, and other initiatives that support the overall business.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with HR Administrator experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or other operational environment strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Humanities, or a related field preferred.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar) preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish verbal and written communication skills required
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, performance management, and employment compliance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Docs or similar platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing deadlines, and work effectively across departments.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex HR topics clearly and professionally.
- Excellent judgment, diplomacy, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, initiative, and follow-through.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with managers, employees, and the HR team.
