Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Pay: $130,000 - 140,000
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), parental leave
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a generalist, HRBP, or HR management capacity.
- Experience leading and developing HR teams.
- Strong employee relations and performance management experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting organizational change and transformation.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- California employment law experience strongly preferred.
- Exposure to labor/union relations strongly preferred.
- Experience working within a multi-state organization preferred.
- Strong HRIS experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, coaching, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining comfortable being hands-on.
- Experience in nutrition, food & beverage, specialty ingredients, manufacturing, CPG, or a related industry is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership and managers on HR strategy, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement.
- Provide guidance and coaching on employee relations, performance management, investigations, disciplinary matters, and workplace concerns.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Provide particular expertise and guidance regarding California employment law and regulations.
- Lead and support organizational change initiatives, including communications, workforce transitions, and change management.
- Manage, develop, and coach HR team members while establishing clear priorities and accountability.
- Partner with leadership on talent acquisition, succession planning, retention, and employee development.
- Oversee and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and processes.
- Partner with payroll, benefits, HRIS, and other internal functions to ensure effective HR operations.
- Support compensation, benefits, leave administration, and other employee programs.
- Partner with managers to identify workforce needs and develop solutions that support business objectives.
- Provide guidance related to labor and employee relations, including unionized environments where applicable.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving employment legislation and recommend changes to policies and practices as needed.
- Analyze HR trends and data to identify opportunities and support informed business decisions.
