Fennec Pharmaceuticals Inc. is a specialty pharmaceutical company committed to the fight against ototoxicity in cancer patients who receive cisplatin-based chemotherapy. Fennec is focused on the commercialization of PEDMARK® to reduce the risk of platinum-induced ototoxicity in cancer patients. PEDMARK received FDA approval in September 2022 and European Commission approval in June 2023 and United Kingdom (U.K.) approval in October 2023 under the brand name PEDMARQSI®.

In March 2024, Fennec entered into an exclusive licensing agreement under which Norgine Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a leading European specialist pharmaceutical company, will commercialize PEDMARQSI® in Europe, U.K., Australia and New Zealand. PEDMARQSI is now commercially available in multiple countries.

PEDMARK has received Orphan Drug Exclusivity in the U.S. and PEDMARQSI has received Pediatric Use Marketing Authorization in Europe which includes eight years plus two years of data and market protection.


Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of HR programs and processes across the employee lifecycle. This role will serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, ensuring a positive employee experience while supporting the organization's growth and operational needs.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional with broad generalist experience who enjoys building processes, solving employee issues, and creating scalable HR practices. This role will partner closely with HR leadership, managers, and external vendors, including our Professional Employer Organization (PEO), while helping evaluate opportunities to transition select HR functions in-house over time.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve the onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Coordinate pre-hire, new hire, and orientation activities to ensure a seamless transition into the organization.
  • Develop and maintain onboarding materials, checklists, and employee resources.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure successful integration of new hires. This responsibility aligns with the organization's existing onboarding process and resources.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, PTO, payroll, and workplace issues.
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee relations matters, performance conversations, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation.
  • Support the resolution of employee concerns while maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  • Foster a positive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Manage daily HR operations and employee lifecycle activities, including hires, changes, and separations.
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support policy development, process improvement, and HR compliance activities.
  • Coordinate annual HR processes, including performance management, policy acknowledgements, and training initiatives.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the company's PEO and benefit providers.
  • Support benefits administration, employee inquiries, and enrollment activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of new HR systems, processes, and tools as needed.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with leave administration, accommodations, and workplace investigations as needed.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are consistently applied.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Support compensation, engagement, recognition, and talent initiatives.
  • Participate in HR process improvement efforts and cross-functional projects.
  • Help establish scalable HR infrastructure as the company continues to grow.
  • Assist with implementation of new HR programs and employee development initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and HR operations.
  • Experience supporting managers and employees in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry experience.
  • Experience in small or growing organizations.


Compensation and Benefits Summary:

Base salary range: $100,000-$130,000


The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual

base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of

the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specif ic and

unique skills, level of education attained, certif ications or other professional licenses

held.


Employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k)
