Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Specialist to manage core HR operations across recruitment, employee relations, payroll administration, and labor law compliance. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted partner to both management and employees, driving efficient hiring processes, maintaining seamless payroll execution, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring full adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment:
- Post jobs, screen candidates, and handle interviews.
- Manage job offers and onboard new hires.
2. Employee Relations
- Answer policy questions and resolve workplace issues.
- Guide managers on performance and conduct exit interviews.
3. Payroll & Benefits
- Run payroll and track PTO, hours, and bonuses.
- Fix pay errors and help with employee benefits.
4. Compliance
- Follow labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA).
- Keep personnel files and handbooks updated.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 years of hands-on experience in a generalist HR role covering recruitment, payroll, and compliance.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, BambooHR, ADP, Gusto, or Paylocity).
- Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and job boards (LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and office tools.
- Core Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of employment standards, wage-and-hour laws, and labor regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and active listening skills.
- High level of discretion, ethics, and ability to handle confidential data.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail in high-volume environments.
