Full job description

In-Home Sales Consultant — Windows & Doors

Pella Windows & Doors of Connecticut & New York

General
  • Connecticut & the Hudson Valley, NY (Dutchess & Putnam Counties)
  • Full-Time
  • Uncapped Commission

Compensation
  • Year-one Target Earnings: $70,000–$200,000+ (base/draw + commission + bonuses) — uncapped commission means top performers earn significantly more. Includes a guaranteed base while you train, a paid vehicle allowance, monthly and quarterly performance bonuses, and a First-Year Performance Bonus.
  • Potential to earn up to $400,000+ after first year with strong performance.

About Pella CT-NY
  • Pella is one of the most recognized and trusted names in the window and door industry — a brand our customers already believe in before you walk through the door. Pella CT-NY is growing, and we're looking for our next great Sales Consultant to meet with homeowners, present our industry-leading products, and close the deal. We hire for drive, resilience, and coachability first — we'll teach you the product. Home improvement experience helps, but it is not required.

What You'll Do
  • Consult, don't just quote. Run in-home sales appointments with pre-set, qualified homeowners — present Pella windows and doors, tailor the right solution to their home and budget, and close.
  • Own your numbers. Meet or exceed monthly bookings goals and manage your own calendar and pipeline like a business owner.
  • Follow through. Complete job site visits with photo documentation and submit all paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Stay sharp. Keep current on new products, promotions, and financing offers so you can answer any question a homeowner throws at you.
  • Represent the brand. Every customer interaction — call, text, or kitchen-table appointment — reflects on Pella. We expect professionalism at every touch.
  • This is an outside sales role — you'll be on the road throughout the CT-NY territory meeting customers where they are, with mileage covered by a vehicle allowance.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Guaranteed base to start. $60,000 annualized base salary, paid bi-weekly, while you complete training and ramp up.
  • Draw against commission. Transition to a draw-against-commission structure with a guaranteed bi-weekly draw paid in advance against your closed sales — then uncapped commission on everything you close.
  • Monthly performance bonuses. An ongoing bonus program rewards strong monthly performance on top of commission.
  • First-Year Performance Bonus. Earn additional one-time bonuses for hitting early bookings milestones in your first year.
  • Vehicle allowance. Receive an allowance toward the use of your personal vehicle for company business.
  • Full benefits from day one. Medical, dental, and vision insurance; company-provided short-term disability, term life, and AD&D insurance; and a 401(k).
  • We equip you to succeed. Company-issued cell phone, laptop, tablet and the sales tools and samples you need in the field.

What We're Looking For
  • We built our hiring process around a simple, research-backed idea: prior industry experience is a weak predictor of long-term sales success. Drive, resilience, and coachability are strong predictors. So while relevant experience is a plus, we're just as interested in people who've proven themselves in other high-contact, competitive, or performance-based environments.
  • Experience: 2+ years in in-home sales preferred — not required.
  • A track record that holds up. Top-performer recognition, a defensible close rate, or a self-generated book of business is a strong plus if you have it.
  • Comfortable in front of people, all day. Strong candidates often come from commissioned sales, high-end retail, hospitality, recruiting, athletics, military service, or fitness/personal training — any background built on reading people and earning trust fast.
  • A consultative closer. You build rapport quickly, read the room, and would rather walk a customer off the wrong product than force a sale.
  • Coachable. You take feedback in real time, apply it on the spot, and keep improving.
  • Reliable & road-ready. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check.

Why Pella CT-NY
  • A brand that opens doors. 101 years of national brand trust means fewer cold conversations and warmer homeowners.
  • A product that sells itself. Premium quality means you're selling value, not competing on price.
  • Leadership that invests in you. A seasoned, hands-on leadership team and a structured onboarding ramp for every new rep — whether you're a 10-year veteran or new to the industry.
  • Real, uncapped upside. Long-term earning potential in a growing geography, with no ceiling on what you can close.
