Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 50 global full-service law firm seeking an IP & Technology Litigation Associate to join its Palo Alto, CA office.

This opportunity offers high-stakes patent, trade-secret and technology disputes before courts and specialist forums for technology companies, innovative businesses and major corporate clients within a nationally recognised intellectual-property and technology litigation practice. The Role

The successful attorney will support and lead key components of intellectual-property and technology litigation matters, including:

• Draft pleadings, motions and substantive briefs
• Conduct legal and technical research
• Manage discovery and document-production workstreams
• Prepare for claim-construction proceedings where applicable
• Work with fact, technical and damages experts
• Prepare witnesses for depositions and hearings
• Support depositions, hearings and trial preparation
• Contribute to case strategy and settlement analysis
• Assist with appellate, ITC or PTAB matters where relevant

The role offers direct collaboration with partners, senior lawyers and clients, together with increasing responsibility and opportunities to take ownership of important workstreams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The firm is seeking an ip & technology litigation associate with:

• Approximately 2–5 years of intellectual-property or complex technology litigation experience
• Experience handling patent, trade-secret or technology-related disputes
• Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
• Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs
• Strong discovery and case-management fundamentals
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Strong academic credentials and sophisticated law-firm experience
• Admission to the California Bar, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly

A technical background in electrical engineering, computer science or a related discipline is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated base salary range is $235,000–$390,000, depending on class year, experience, location, qualifications and other relevant factors.
