Network & Physical IT Infrastructure Project Manager (PM)
San Jose, CA / Korean-English Bilingual
1. Role Purpose
The Network & Physical IT Infrastructure Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing network and physical IT infrastructure build-out, migration, expansion, and operational handover projects for customer site.
The role covers wired and wireless networks, ISP circuits, MDF/IDF and server room infrastructure, structured cabling, network equipment, physical installation of server/system equipment, site readiness, testing, and Go-Live coordination.
The PM will lead coordination among internal IT teams, network engineers, system engineers, security teams, facilities teams, ISPs/carriers, construction contractors, equipment vendors, and local stakeholders.
2. Scope of Work
2.1 Project Management and Communication
- Develop and manage project scope, schedule, milestones, dependencies, and execution plans.
- Coordinate workstreams across network, systems, security, facilities, ISP/carrier, and vendor teams.
- Manage project status, risks, issues, action items, decisions, and change requests.
- Lead regular project meetings, technical review meetings, vendor/ISP meetings, and construction progress meetings.
- Prepare and distribute project status reports, meeting minutes, action-item trackers, and management updates in Korean and English.
- Escalate schedule delays, site-readiness gaps, technical issues, and Go-Live risks as appropriate.
2.2 Wired and Wireless Network Build Coordination
- Coordinate detailed design activities for LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet connectivity, and inter-site connectivity.
- Facilitate design reviews and approval processes with network engineers, security teams, and external vendors.
- Coordinate requirements related to switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, VLANs, IP addressing, routing, and network security.
- Manage requirements for MDF/IDF rooms, equipment racks, structured cabling, fiber optic cabling, patch panels, and cable pathways.
- Coordinate wireless AP placement, wireless coverage requirements, installation locations, and site conditions.
- Coordinate network equipment installation, configuration activities, connectivity testing, and operational handover.
2.3 Physical Installation Coordination for Server and System Infrastructure
- Coordinate delivery, receiving, storage, staging, and installation schedules for servers, storage devices, backup appliances, and other system infrastructure equipment.
- Verify rack space, rack units (U-space), floor loading, power capacity, UPS, PDU, grounding, HVAC/cooling, and physical security requirements for server rooms, MDF/IDF rooms, data rooms, and equipment rooms.
- Coordinate rack-and-stack activities, power connections, network port connections, and cabling work for server and system equipment.
- Coordinate network ports, VLANs, IP address allocation, and firewall connectivity requirements with network and security teams for system equipment installation.
- Maintain records of equipment delivery status, asset information, serial numbers, installation locations, and rack placement.
- Coordinate verification and acceptance activities for equipment power-up, basic network connectivity, and completion of physical installation.
- Manage installation dependencies and on-site issues among system engineers, network engineers, facilities teams, equipment vendors, and installation contractors.
- Operating system installation, virtualization configuration, storage configuration, backup configuration, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, application installation, and other logical system configurations are owned by the applicable system engineering or service owner teams.
2.4 ISP Circuit Design and Carrier Coordination
- Coordinate Internet, dedicated circuit, and redundant circuit requirements with ISPs and telecommunications carriers.
- Manage circuit bandwidth, circuit type, SLA requirements, demarcation point, installation schedule, and service activation process.
- Track ISP service orders, site surveys, carrier construction activities, installation, and circuit turn-up schedules.
- Coordinate technical requirements for static IP addresses, routing, BGP, cross-connects, redundancy, and failover.
- Manage and escalate ISP delivery delays, installation issues, and service activation problems.
- Manage confirmation of circuit installation, testing, service activation, and acceptance completion.
2.5 Infrastructure Construction and Site Readiness Management
- Coordinate with general contractors, electrical contractors, low-voltage cabling vendors, facilities teams, building management, and landlords.
- Coordinate construction and readiness requirements for MDF/IDF rooms, server rooms, network equipment rooms, racks, cable trays, conduits, and cable pathways.
- Manage requirements for power, UPS, PDU, grounding, HVAC/cooling, physical security, and access control supporting server and network equipment.
- Conduct or coordinate site surveys and site readiness assessments.
- Track construction progress, vendor deliverables, punch-list items, and corrective actions.
- Manage schedule dependencies among equipment installation, cabling, ISP activation, network connectivity, and service Go-Live.
2.6 Implementation, Testing, and Go-Live
- Coordinate delivery, installation, configuration activities, testing, and acceptance of network and system equipment.
- Develop and manage Cutover, Migration, Rollback, and Go-Live plans.
- Coordinate testing and acceptance activities for network connectivity, ISP circuits, wireless coverage, and physical power/network connectivity of server and system equipment.
- Manage service transition communications for users and operations teams.
- Manage network, circuit, and physical infrastructure issues and follow-up actions during the post-Go-Live stabilization period (Hypercare).
- Coordinate completion of operational handover, As-Built documentation, and physical infrastructure documentation.

4. Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, or technical project management.
- Experience managing enterprise wired LAN, wireless LAN, WAN, ISP circuit, and network implementation projects.
- Experience managing delivery, rack installation, power connection, and network connectivity projects for servers, storage devices, backup appliances, data centers, and server room infrastructure.
- Experience working with ISPs, telecommunications carriers, network/system equipment vendors, cabling contractors, construction vendors, and facilities teams.
- Understanding of MDF/IDF environments, server rooms, structured cabling, fiber optics, racks, UPS/PDU, grounding, and HVAC/cooling requirements.
- Experience managing network implementation, equipment installation, service transition, and operational handover projects.
- Strong project scheduling, risk/issue management, vendor management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Business-level communication skills in both Korean and English.
- Ability to work effectively with local U.S. vendors, carriers, contractors, building management, and facilities stakeholders.
5. Out of Scope / Role Exclusions
Unless otherwise agreed, the PM is not expected to directly perform the following activities:
- Direct configuration or operational administration of network equipment.
- Server operating system installation or configuration.
- Logical configuration of virtualization platforms, storage, backup systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID/Azure AD, applications, user accounts, access rights, security policies, or operational services.
- Direct cabling installation, electrical work, construction work, or ISP field installation activities.
These activities will be performed by internal network/system engineers, security teams, ISPs, specialized contractors, or external equipment vendors.
The PM is responsible for managing the overall project schedule, technical and site dependencies, site readiness, equipment delivery and installation, quality, risks, issues, service transition, and stakeholder communications.
