Global Electronics Association is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant. The Junior Staff Accountant supports daily accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash application, and billing. This role ensures transactional accuracy, timely processing, and contributes to a smooth month-end close.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Accounting
- Review and validate vouchered time
- Prepare and process labor costs and journal entries as needed.
- Maintain supporting documentation for time and effort reporting in accordance to grant requirements.
Accounts Receivable (AR) and Billing
- Prepare customer invoices and credit memos; ensure contract/PO alignment.
- Monitor AR aging; perform collections outreach and record customer communications.
- Post cash receipts and adjustments; maintain customer account accuracy.
Cash Application and Reconciliations
- Perform daily cash application and bank reconciliation tasks.
- Investigate unapplied cash and resolve short-pays or chargebacks.
- Support daily sales and cash reporting.
General Ledger and Close Support
- Assist with journal entries and basic account reconciliations.
- Maintain documentation for audits and internal control compliance.
- Support inventory or fixed asset tasks as assigned.
Process and Systems
- Maintain clean data within ERP; help implement workflow improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales Ops, Customer Success, Procurement).
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
- 2+ years in an accounting function (internships/co-ops acceptable).
- Familiarity with AP/AR processes and billing systems.
- Excel basics (vlookups, pivots preferred) and exposure to ERP software.
- Highly organized, strong follow-up, customer-service orientation, willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with AI agent use in support of Accounting task.
