Salary Range: $120K-$150K | Bonus eligible

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday

Required: 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience in a law firm, legal recruiting, professional services, or comparable recruiting environment

About the Opportunity

Our client, a national law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Recruiting Business Partner to lead the recruitment and onboarding of lateral associate attorneys, off-track attorneys, and technical professionals. This role is based in Los Angeles and serves as a strategic partner to firm leadership and practice groups throughout the full-cycle recruiting process.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree and relevant professional experience
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience
  • Experience in a law firm, legal recruiting, professional services, or comparable recruiting environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in lateral attorney recruiting, talent acquisition, candidate sourcing, and recruitment strategy
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish trust and credibility with firm leadership, attorneys, colleagues, candidates, and external search consultants
  • Strong customer service and candidate experience orientation, with an understanding of the importance of organizational reputation
  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and effectively manage stakeholders across different levels of an organization
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to use data and market insights to inform recruiting strategies
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple workstreams with a high degree of autonomy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion when handling sensitive recruiting and candidate information
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative recruiting team
  • Proactive, positive, and solutions-oriented approach with strong attention to detail
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% to the organization's U.S. and Canadian offices


Key Job Functions

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to practice group leaders, office managing partners, and senior leadership on lateral recruiting needs, market intelligence, and talent acquisition strategy
  • Develop and refine firm-wide lateral recruiting strategies, aligning hiring activity with practice priorities and organizational goals
  • Provide recommendations regarding candidate selection, talent pipelines, sourcing strategies, and recruiting approaches based on market data and professional expertise
  • Independently manage the full-cycle recruiting process, from intake and candidate sourcing through interviewing, offer management, and onboarding
  • Recruit experienced lateral attorneys, off-track attorneys, and technical professionals across the organization
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion when evaluating candidates, assessing qualifications, and advising stakeholders on hiring decisions, while recognizing that attorneys retain ultimate hiring authority
  • Conduct and oversee structured interviews, synthesize feedback, and facilitate interview debriefs to support consistent, informed decision-making
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring a professional and engaging candidate experience
  • Manage multiple active searches simultaneously, prioritizing competing demands and coordinating with recruiting specialists and coordinators
  • Develop, implement, and maintain recruiting policies, procedures, and operational standards that support consistency, quality, and organizational objectives
  • Review and improve recruiting documentation, templates, and communications for clarity, compliance, and consistency
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, recruiting data, and applicant information in accordance with departmental standards
  • Represent the organization professionally with candidates, executive search firms, external recruiting partners, and industry contacts
  • Advise internal stakeholders on candidate evaluation, recruiting processes, and candidate engagement strategies
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance recruiting processes, technology, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and data quality
  • Analyze recruiting data and market intelligence to identify trends and inform lateral hiring strategies
