Job Summary:
The Licensing Specialist supports the development and implementation of compliance programs,
policies, reporting, and practices for the organization and related companies. This role independently conducts compliance research, documents changes, and communicates updates and findings to team leadership. The Licensing Specialist collaborates with multiple departments to ensure compliance programs meet regulations on an ongoing basis.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Identify functions and business practices requiring compliance and regulatory activities.
Perform administrative functions related to the development of a compliance strategy.
Conduct compliance research to ensure that the organization and related companies
are compliant with applicable state and federal law, as well as lender requirements.
Monitor internal compliance and regulatory functions across the organization.
Evaluate, develop, and implement updated compliance plans as necessary.
Document changes in laws and governmental policies that may impact internal processes
and/or products.
Coordinate the creation and distribution of the monthly Compliance Compass newsletter.
Perform day-to-day operational and administrative tasks for the department including licensing
and renewals, state and lender form submissions, coordination of team and inter-departmental meetings (scheduling, agendas, minutes), resolving issues that may arise, and other tasks
as needed.
Collaborate with multiple departments to oversee and sustain company licensing and
renewals, ensuring all financial accounts and insurance policies remain up to date.
Manage registered agent relationship, SOS filings, and any other documentation that may be
required.
Maintain and protect confidentiality regarding all aspects of client and company information.
Perform other duties at the discretion of management.
Education and Experience:
Relevant experience in law, ethics, organizational business, and regulatory/compliance matters
preferred, but not required.
Experience building internal relationships and working across a highly matrixed organization.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
