Full job description
About the Role
QoSTronics is seeking a proactive, technically grounded Quality Manager to lead our quality operations across high-reliability electronics contract manufacturing. As a working manager in our 65-person team, you will bridge the gap between high-level regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, ITAR) and daily IPC Class 3 assembly execution on the shop floor. This is an end-to-end ownership role designed for a self-motivated leader who thrives on building robust quality systems, driving continuous process improvement, and solving shop-floor technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- QMS & Regulatory Leadership: Maintain, audit, and evolve our ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 management systems. Ensure strict adherence to ITAR export regulations and medical device traceability standards.
- High-Reliability Floor Engineering: Serve as the technical authority for PCBA and electro-mechanical assembly quality, enforcing IPC Class 2/3 soldering and assembly standards.
- Root Cause & CAPA Management: Lead failure analyses, SCARs, internal CARs, and MRB meetings. Move beyond surface-level fixes to implement bulletproof, systemic preventive actions.
- Audits & Customer Quality: Host registrar, customer, and regulatory audits. Act as the primary technical point of contact for customer quality inquiries, RMA investigations, and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
- Proactive Process Optimization: Track inline yields, scrap, and rework metrics to drive Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.
Required Qualifications
- US Person Status: Must be a US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident due to ITAR export control compliance requirements.
- EMS Experience: 5+ years in electronics contract manufacturing with direct exposure to high-mix production.
- Technical Standards: Deep practical expertise in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-7711/7721 (Class 3 focus). Active or past CIT/CIS certification strongly preferred.
- ISO & Regulatory Expertise: Proven experience managing ISO 13485 quality systems and applying ISO 14971 risk management principles.
- Mindset: Autonomous, self-driven operator who balances audit readiness with active daily visibility on the factory floor.
