Mechanical Drafter [83590]

A manufacturing company is hiring a Mechanical Drafter to support their hardware development team. Located on-site, this contract role involves creating detailed technical drawings and 3D models for mechanical components used in robotic systems. Candidates should have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar role and proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably Onshape.

Mechanical Drafter Responsibilities:

• Develop precise 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical parts and assemblies for robotic systems.
• Convert engineering concepts and sketches into formal manufacturing documentation.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards such as ASME Y14 or ISO and include tolerances, fits, and surface finishes.
• Collaborate closely with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability and accuracy.
• Maintain detailed records of revisions and engineering change orders for all drawings.

Mechanical Drafter Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience as a mechanical drafter or in a similar manufacturing role.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software, with Onshape experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of GD&T principles and application.
• Knowledge of mechanical tolerancing, fits, and surface finish specifications.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing, as well as standards like ASME Y14 and ISO.
