A confidential, established U.S. law firm is seeking a commercial real estate transactional associate attorney to join its Houston practice. This position is built for an attorney who enjoys managing active deal work end to end, with a practice focused entirely on transactions rather than disputes.

THE ROLE

• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements and related closing documentation.
• Support acquisitions and dispositions, including due diligence review and closing coordination.
• Draft and negotiate commercial leasing documentation as needed.
• Assist with real estate finance transactions, including review of loan documents and closing deliverables.
• Manage transaction timelines, checklists, issue spotting, and communications with counterparties and third parties through closing.

LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Location:

Houston, Texas (local presence required).

Schedule:

Hybrid, with in-office collaboration expected.

Compensation:

Base salary listed at $220,000.

REQUIREMENTS

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active Texas Bar admission.
• At least 3 years of relevant commercial real estate transactional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate core commercial real estate documents and manage deals through closing.
• Must be Houston-based.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• 3 to 5 years of experience is preferred; strong candidates with 6+ years will be considered.
• Experience gained in private practice and/or an in-house environment.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Annual billable expectation of 1,980 hours.
