Full job description
Actively seeking a VP of Tax & Compliance Management for a Full-Time & HYBRID Position within a Nonprofit Organization. The right candidate is someone with international Experience, Nonprofit Experience, Multi-State Experience, and has taken part in filing and auditing returns.

HOURS: Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5:30 PM EST
SCHEDULE | LOCATION: HYBRID (3 Days in Office) | Midtown Manhattan
PAY: $200 - $250K (Commensurate w/Experience)

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance REQUIRED
- CPA Certification is REQUIRED
- 15+ Years of Progressive Experience in Tax Accounting & Compliance REQUIRED
- Leadership Experience is REQUIRED
- Strong MS Office Suite Experience, including Excel
- Experience using Oracle Accounting Software is HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills to be able to make presentations and put together analytical reports

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise as a subject matter expert about federal and state employment tax matters, including but not limited to: state income taxation of all hybrid and remote employees, state unemployment insurance, FICA taxation for deferred compensation arrangements, imputed income tax reporting for various employer-provided benefits, etc.
- Advise as a subject matter expert about tax reporting and income tax withholding matters for both U.S. Persons and Non-U.S. Persons.
- Collaborate with various business and corporate units to ensure gathering of appropriate tax documents from nonresident aliens to determine the appropriate tax reporting.g
- Responsible for the annual calculation of the federal excise tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 4960
- Ensure the accuracy and timely filing of Form 4720
- Ensure accurate and timely filing, as well as accurate and timely deposits of taxes withheld to federal and state taxing authorities, including but not limited to Form 1099 / Form 1042, Form W-2 / Form 941, Form 1094 / Form 1095, Form W-9 / Form W-8
- Responsible for managing the completion of the annual Form 720
- Daily monitoring of federal and state tax updates
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax team
- Manage business relationships with external tax advisors and consultants
